1. Appalachian Christmas Mountain Farms
Address: 7177 U.S. 421, Boone, NC 28607
Appalachian Christmas Mountain Farms has been a local favorite choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm for years. Their farm features a large field of Fraser Fir trees that you get to choose from and have the employees cut down just for you.
They also have a small field, perfect for the little ones to choose their own small tree to take home. A hayride being led by a tractor will bring the whole family out to the tree fields. After your trip, be sure to stop by the gift shop for handmade wreaths and Christmas decor.
Appalachian Christmas Mountain Farms is open November 17th – 19th, 23rd – 26th, and December 1st – 3rd, and 8th – 10th.
2. C & J Christmas Trees
Address: 1999 Brookshire Road, Boone, NC 28607
C & J Christmas Trees is a family-owned and operated tree farm in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They have a large selection of choose-and-cut and cut-your-own trees that do go very quickly, so it is recommended to get them early in the season.
They are still open after they sell out with pre-cut trees and wreaths. They also have a nice selection of snacks and drinks and meet and greets with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
C & J Christmas Trees will be open every weekend starting November 11th and ending December 10th, 2023.
3. Circle C Tree Farms
Address: 313 Will Cook Road, Boone, NC 28607
Circle C Tree Farms is located just outside of Rocky Mountain Bike Park and has been serving the community Christmas trees since 1996. Circle C Farms has a beautiful selection of Fraser Firs, choose-and-cut trees, and pre-cut trees for this holiday season. They recommend wearing boots as it tends to get muddy out in the tree fields.
Circle C Tree Farms are open November 11th & 12th and November 17th – 26th.
4. Clawson’s Choose & Cut
Address: 4944 Highway 194 North, Boone, NC 28607
If you are looking for an eventful tree farm experience, Clawson’s Farm is a great place to bring the family. Not only do they offer a large selection of choose-and-cut trees and pre-cut trees, but they also have hay rides out to the tree fields, farm animals and a petting zoo, a small gift shop with wreaths, and free hot chocolate and coffee.
Clawson’s Choose & Cut Farm will be open November 11th through December 17th, every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
5. Miller Choose and Cut
Address: 1739 Ball Branch Road, Boone, NC 28607
For those looking for early Christmas trees, you’ll love Miller Choose and Cut and their beautiful selection of Fraser Firs. Miller Choose and Cut opens November 4th and is open every day until they run out of trees.
6. Panoramic View Christmas Tree Farm
Address: 368 Panoramic Lane, Boone, NC 28607
Panoramic View Christmas Tree Farm is owned and operated by the same family at Clawson’s Choose & Cut. Panoramic View Christmas Tree Farm offers even more: larger trees, free hot chocolate, coffee, hay rides, and a petting zoo. They are open only on November 18th – 19th, 24th – 26th, and December 2nd – 3rd.
7. Poplar Grove Choose and Cut
Address: 1944 Poplar Grove Road S., Boone, NC 28607
Poplar Grove is a smaller, family-owned Fraser Fir tree farm that produces trees 8-11 feet tall. They are High Country’s most centrally located tree farm, making it an easy and perfect place to get the perfect tree. After you choose your tree, you can visit their gift shop, where they have handmade gifts, Christmas treats, wreaths, and more.
Poplar Grove will be open every day from November 19th – December 4th, 2023.
8. Appalachian Evergreens
Address: 574 RC Cook Rd, Blowing Rock, NC 28605
Appalachian Evergreens is a generational family farm that has been running since 1933. Guests can get their very own Fraser Fir Christmas tree at this choose-and-cut farm. Appalachian Evergreens also offers wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, gifts, and Appalachian Evergreens cured mountain ham. They offer wholesale orders online or visit them in person for the full experience.
Appalachian Evergreens choose-and-cut trees will be open November 18th – 19th and November 24th – 26th, 2023.
9. Bear Wallow Choose and Cut
Address: 406 Long Ridge Farms Road, Sugar Grove, NC 28679
Bear Wallow, in Sugar Grove, has a nice selection of Fraser Fir trees that range from 4 feet to 12 feet tall. They also sell handmade white pine wreaths. Bear Wallow will be open every weekend in November and December 3rd and 4th, 2023.
10. Bluestone Greenery
Address: 1230 Howard Edmisten Road, Sugar Grove, NC 28679
Bluestone Greenery is a family-owned and operated Fraser Fir tree farm that has been operating for over 40 years. Bluestone Greenery has a small selection of pre-cut trees, but they are most known for their gorgeous handmade wreaths and garlands. Visit their store to pick up your own decoration, or order one online.
Their Christmas trees will be available November 25th – 27th, December 3rd – 4th, and December 10th -11th.
11. Swinging Bridge Farm
Address: 711 Old Glade Road, Deep Gap, NC 28618
Swinging Bridge Farm is a popular farm open year-round with seasonal activities and produce. It is a great place to choose a pre-cut Fraser Fir tree and explore the grounds. Around the farm, guests can walk across the 48’ swinging bridge, visit the Renaissance-style orangery, feed and fish at the trout pond, and take farm tours.
Be sure to grab a mini Christmas orange tree at the shop on your way out. Their Christmas trees will be available November 9th – 13th, 2023.
12. Frosty’s Choose & Cut

Frosty’s Choose and Cut is the perfect place for a family outing. They have a great selection of choose-and-cut Fraser Fir trees, “snow-capped” trees, wreaths, and garlands. They also have build-a-wreath workshops, a live nativity, refreshments, snacks, Santa meet and greets, bonfires, hayrides, and custom-made ornaments.
Frosty’s is open every weekend from November 18th to December 6th.
13. Ivy Point Farm

Ivy Point Farm is a smaller, family farm that offers choose-and-cut Christmas trees in a beautiful mountain setting. They also offer handmade wreaths and refreshments. Call or stop by anytime to check the status of their Christmas trees.
14. Long’s Choose & Cut Christmas Trees

Long’s Choose and & Cut Tree Farm has been operating these mountains and growing Christmas trees since the 1970s. They have a wonderful selection of Fraser Fir trees and unbeatable prices. Long’s also offers handmade garlands and wreaths.

A beautiful family farm that offers choose-and-cut Fraser Fir and White Pine trees. After you get your tree, head on over to the gift shop, where they offer free hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies, wreaths, garlands, ornaments, and tree stands. You can also get your photo taken with Santa!
17. Sugar Plum Farm

Sugar Plum Farms is a popular and exciting tree farm in North Carolina. This eventful tree farm has a wide selection of choose-and-cut Fraser Fir trees and tons of activities to enjoy afterward.
You and the family can have your picture taken with the tree that Santa and the elves will frame just for you! Pick-up is available at the gift shop. On weekends, Sugar Plum Farms offers free hayrides, farm tours, a trout pond, Santa meet and greets, free hot chocolate, and apple cider, as well as barbecue, burgers, and hot dogs.

Tweetsie Christmas takes place at Tweetsie Railroad, the Wild West theme park based around the historic train.
