This waterfall along Jacob’s Fork River cascades over an 80’ sheer cliff. Be sure to stick to the trail and keep in mind that there is absolutely no swimming allowed for your safety.

Along the trail, you will gain 1,321 feet in elevation, bringing you along the top of the mountain range, featuring panoramic views of the gorge below and an open-air trail with plenty of sunshine at the top.
Although this hike is relatively short at just a 2-mile round trip, the climb in elevation on this Linville Gorge trail is not for the faint of heart. At the peak of this trail, hikers can find themselves at an elevation of just over 4,000 feet while taking in the views of the gorge below.
Although this hike offers some of the best 360-degree views of the Linville Gorge Wilderness, it can be dangerous, and hikers should take care to keep dogs leashed and be mindful of sharp drop-offs and steep ledges, especially when posing for a photo op.

As the namesake of this wilderness area, Linville Falls is a popular three-tiered 90-foot waterfall accessible by a handful of trails within the park. The easiest way to access the falls is via the two trails just off the parking lot at the Linville Falls Visitor Center, although seasoned hikers may prefer the more strenuous four-mile excursion for access to all five vantage points for the falls.
A second parking area for the falls can be found near the village of Linville Falls in Pisgah National Forest. The visitors center is open seasonally to offer restrooms, picnic areas, maps, and more. The trail is open year-round, but the roads leading to the trailhead can be difficult to navigate due to poor conditions and potholes. If you travel here, have a high-clearance vehicle, preferably a 4×4.
